Vintage 1930s Heisey Empress Sahara Lemon Dish Base • W.J. Hughes Corn Flower Glass

$64.95

A beautiful piece of 1930s elegant glass, combining A.H. Heisey’s sculptural Empress design with the delicate Corn Flower cutting associated with W.J. Hughes. 🌼✨

This pale lemon-yellow glass dish is identified as the base of a Heisey #1401 Empress covered lemon dish in the company’s Sahara color. The form features three ornate dolphin-style feet, three curled glass handles, a scalloped rim, and finely cut floral decoration across the bowl.

The flowers display the distinctive W.J. Hughes Corn Flower design, recognized by its multi-petaled blossoms, patterned centers, leaves, and sweeping stems. Hughes is known to have decorated Heisey blanks, including pieces from the Empress line. Heisey produced the Sahara Empress line during the 1930s.

The matching dolphin-finial lid is not included, but the open dish remains beautifully displayable and can be used as a small serving bowl, candy dish, trinket bowl, or collector display piece.
