Vintage Frankoma #38 Octagonal Vase • Onyx Black Pottery Scalloped Rim 1960s Oklahoma

$24.95

Striking vintage Frankoma art pottery vase in a glossy deep black glaze, featuring a tall tapered silhouette, subtle vertical fluting, a softly scalloped rim, and distinctive faceted octagonal pedestal base.

This is Frankoma mold #38, the later octagonal vase design produced during the late 1960s. The rich glossy black finish is consistent with Frankoma’s classic Onyx Black glaze, while the exposed reddish clay along the underside of the foot reflects the pottery’s Oklahoma production.

Its slender geometric shape gives it a wonderful mid-century presence without being overly ornate, making it equally suited to a Frankoma collection, vintage pottery display, or modern shelf styling.

From these photos, this one looks very good vintage condition. I don't see an obvious chip or crack at the scalloped rim, which is the first place I'd expect trouble. There is normal wear/scuffing around the unglazed underside of the base consistent with age and display.
