Vintage Rodolfo Padilla Stoneware Mugs Set of 4, 1980s Mexican Pottery Drip Glaze Coffee Cups
A striking set of four vintage Rodolfo Padilla stoneware coffee mugs, featuring a rich dark navy-to-black glaze topped with flowing layers of cream, taupe, soft blue, and teal.
Each mug has a chunky geometric form with a dramatic squared handle, giving the set a sculptural 1980s studio pottery / postmodern feel. The reactive drip glaze varies naturally from mug to mug, so although they coordinate beautifully, no two are quite identical.
Made in Mexico, Rodolfo Padilla pottery is especially collectible for its distinctive shapes, earthy glazes, and handcrafted character.
These would look fantastic displayed together on open shelving but are substantial enough to bring some serious vintage personality to the morning coffee lineup. ☕
Set includes:
• 4 matching stoneware mugs
Details:
• Maker: Rodolfo Padilla
• Era: Circa 1980s
• Origin: Mexico
• Material: Glazed stoneware / ceramic
• Color: Deep navy-black with cream, taupe and blue-teal drip glaze
• Style: Studio pottery / postmodern / geometric
• Large squared handles
• Set of 4
Approx. Measurements per Mug:
• Height: ~4.5"
• Overall width including handle: ~4.5"
• Mug body: ~3" wide
Condition:
Very good vintage condition with no obvious chips or cracks observed. As expected with handmade/art pottery, the mugs show natural variations in glaze application along with occasional tiny glaze pinholes and firing irregularities. These are part of the handmade character rather than later damage. Please review all photos closely, as each mug has its own unique glaze pattern.
