Vintage 1988 Postmodern Studio Pottery Teapot • Abstract Ceramic Bamboo Handle Vessel
This vintage studio pottery teapot is pure late-1980s postmodern design, with a wonderfully sculptural form, pastel geometric decoration, and an arched bamboo-style handle. 🎨
The rounded ceramic body features hand-painted abstract shapes in soft pink, lavender, cream, and blue outlined in dark brown, giving it a distinctly 1980s Postmodern / Memphis-inspired look. A long sculptural spout and wrapped natural handle add an organic counterpoint to the playful geometric design.
The underside is hand-signed “Jeanne” and dated 1988, giving the piece a confirmed late-1980s origin. The artist’s full identity has not been confirmed.
PLEASE NOTE: This piece does not have a lid. Because of that, we recommend it primarily as a decorative art pottery vessel, vase, or display piece rather than for brewing or serving tea.
It would be fantastic styled on a bookshelf, kitchen shelf, console table, or among a collection of eclectic postmodern ceramics.
